we love our stockists / white willow

We asked one of our newest Lindi Kingi Design stockists, Jo of White Willow in Balclutha, to share her style tips, favourite tunes and even a recipe. We love her commitment to Kiwi labels and can't wait to snack on that salad...!

Tell us all about your store.

WHITE WILLOW opened the doors in Balclutha, South Otago, on September 10th last year. Owning my own boutique has always been a dream to me. Now I am living it and loving it! It's an atmosphere, it's a feeling, it's a fashion experience, really. I believe in our New Zealand designers and their creations, choices in fabric and stylish designs. We are so lucky!

Some of my favourite labels are Salasai, Cybele, Maaike, Nyne and Turet Knuefermann. Winter 2012 is going to be fantastic with Starfish and Mild Red coming on board. WHITE WILLOW also stocks a few other designers from further afield to throw in the mix.

It is very important that my customer is happy and that we have a bit of a giggle at the same time, shopping is fun!

What's on the stereo?

Somebody That I Used to Know by Gotye (feat. Kimbra)I know it was released last year but I still just cant get enough of it.

Brother by Little Birdy and Wagon Wheel by Chris Pureka are some other favourites.

Biggest summer sellers? Mmm.....Lonely Hearts had the perfect summer dress. The TK shoe had everyone's attention, they are just stunning!!!Last but not at the least............The Lindi Kingi Howlite Bracelet in the cream and in the turquiose, they were the perfect gift of choice for Christmas.

What's your favourite snack? Cashew nuts, cashew nuts and more cashew nuts!!!!Try this salad I love:

In a bowl mix up Best Foods mayonnaise, smoked chicken and a large handful of unsalted cashew nuts. Add some fresh lettuce, layer with a slice of bread or two — delicious!

Tell us about your top styling tricks?Dress accordingly to your body shape, invest in classic peices you love, and remember fashion is more than a great outfit — it's a feeling within!

And finally, what's your favourite Lindi Kingi Design piece and why? The Hawk Necklace. It's a strong piece. The Hawk is by far my favourite bird. It's powerful and represents freedom and vision.
